Jennifer Winget has made it clear that marriage has not changed the way she looks at her acting career. The popular television actor, who recently tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend William Ishmael, opened up about life after marriage at the trailer launch of Netflix’s Shaque: Trust No One in Mumbai. Jennifer attended the event alongside Parineeti Chopra, Anup Soni, Soni Razdan, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Harleen Sethi, Netflix’s Tanya Bami, director Rensil D’Silva and producer Siddharth P. Malhotra.
When asked whether her husband is supportive of her acting career and how interested he is in her profession, Jennifer’s answer was refreshingly simple. “He is interested in me — that’s all that matters,” she said. The actor explained that her husband’s support does not depend on whether she is an actor or pursuing something else. “He isn't in love with my profession; he’s in love with me,” Jennifer added, offering a glimpse into the personal equation that matters most to her.
Jennifer also addressed the growing conversation around female actors returning to work after marriage and motherhood. According to the actor, there has been no dramatic shift in her professional priorities simply because she got married. “I mean, nothing has changed. I’ve just gotten married. Everything else remains the same,” she said, while agreeing with Parineeti Chopra’s point about finding balance between personal life and work.
For Jennifer, the working environment and the people she collaborates with are extremely important. She revealed that she often returns to work with the same people because familiarity creates a comfortable space where everyone understands each other. Whether it is television, digital projects or another medium, she wants the professional environment to feel right. At the same time, she acknowledged that marriage does bring some practical changes, particularly when it comes to planning her schedule and knowing when she will or will not be available for work.
The conversation came at the trailer launch of Shaque: Trust No One, where Parineeti Chopra plays a mother whose newborn daughter is abducted from the Royal Shimla Hospital. The story jumps nine years into the future, following the mother’s relentless search for her missing child as she navigates deceit, paranoia and a growing sense that even the people closest to her may be hiding something. Jennifer is part of the ensemble cast, alongside Tahir Raj Bhasin, Soni Razdan, Anup Soni, Harleen Sethi and Sumeet Vyas.
Directed by Rensil D’Silva and produced by Siddharth P. Malhotra under Alchemy Films, Shaque: Trust No One is set to premiere globally on Netflix on September 24, 2026. As Jennifer begins this new chapter of her personal life, her message is refreshingly uncomplicated: marriage has not meant putting her career on pause.
