Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has been announced as the new brand ambassador for the House of Acer ecosystem, and the actor made it clear that he does not take brand endorsements lightly. During an interaction around the partnership, Kumar spoke about the responsibility that comes with putting his name behind a product, while also sharing a rather personal example of just how seriously he takes that responsibility.

Asked whether celebrities should feel accountable when endorsing brands, Akshay said he takes that responsibility “very seriously.” He then added his trademark humour to the answer, saying, “I take that responsibility so seriously that every AC in my home is an Acer; the washing machines are coming in too... I mean, what more could I possibly endorse?”

The actor's answer was more than just a punchline. Akshay pointed out that his continued use of the products reflects his confidence in what he is promoting. “That shows just how much I believe in the product,” he said, making it clear that for him, an endorsement should ideally go beyond simply appearing in an advertisement.

The partnership comes as Acer celebrates its 50th global anniversary and 27 years of operations in India. The company is expanding its identity from a brand traditionally associated with personal computers and laptops into a broader consumer technology and home appliances ecosystem under the House of Acer umbrella. The portfolio includes Acer as well as its consumer appliances wing, Acerpure.

Akshay's association with the brand also fits neatly into the conversation around technology and changing lifestyles. The actor has long maintained a public image built around discipline, fitness and consistency, and he was asked what advice he would give young people trying to stay ahead in an increasingly technology-driven world.

His response focused on something technology cannot do on its own: personal effort. “My advice to the youth is this: while technology exists to propel you forward, you also need to move forward in life through your own efforts,” Akshay said.

He acknowledged that technology is an important part of modern life but warned against expecting gadgets to do the hard work of personal growth. “Technology is great up to a certain point—it is constantly changing—but you have to drive your own progress,” he explained.

The actor then delivered his message in typically straightforward fashion: “So, my advice is to take yourself seriously; you must evolve and keep pushing yourself to stay at the forefront. Keep moving forward.” It is a simple philosophy, but one that fits the larger theme of the Acer partnership — using technology as a tool while ensuring that the individual remains in the driver's seat.

For Acer, bringing Akshay Kumar on board is part of a larger shift in how the company wants to position itself in India's increasingly competitive consumer technology market. The House of Acer strategy aims to bring multiple categories under one ecosystem, moving beyond traditional computing and deeper into everyday technology and home appliances.

Meanwhile, Akshay continues to maintain a busy film schedule. He will next be seen in Haiwaan, where he reunites with Saif Ali Khan after 18 years. Directed by Priyadarshan, the film also stars Boman Irani, Saiyami Kher and Shriya Pilgaonkar and is scheduled for theatrical release on September 11, 2026.

From technology at home to technology on the global stage, Akshay's message remains fairly consistent: gadgets can make life easier, but they cannot replace ambition. And if his own Acer-heavy household is anything to go by, the actor appears to be putting at least one part of that endorsement philosophy into practice.
