Actress Sharvari took to Instagram to share an emotional tribute to director Imtiaz Ali, expressing her gratitude as the teaser for their upcoming film Main Vaapas Aaunga was unveiled. In a heartfelt letter, Sharvari recalled attending an Imtiaz Ali masterclass three years ago, where she first encountered the filmmaker’s vision, craft, and approach to storytelling. She shared that even then, she “manifested to be a part of your films someday,” little knowing that she would soon star in one of his projects.
Sharvari’s Instagram post included a screengrab of the story she posted back in October 2023, marking the moment she dreamed of working with Ali. “Little did I know I would see a teaser that ends with ‘A FILM BY IMTIAZ ALI’ which stars MEE!!!” she wrote, reflecting on the joy and fulfillment of seeing that dream realized. She further described her experience on set as one of her “most cherished memories,” highlighting the director’s encouragement and belief in her craft.
The actor reminisced about the journey of filming, from recce to shoot, and shared that the many conversations over lunches and dinners became treasured moments. “Main Vaapas Aaunga's journey for me as a young actor who is hungry to be moulded into different lives on screen has been the most fulfilling one, only and only because of your encouragement and belief,” Sharvari wrote, praising Ali as both a unique filmmaker and a remarkable person.
The teaser, released on Friday, introduces the film’s poignant narrative set against the backdrop of the 1947 India-Pakistan partition. Featuring Diljit Dosanjh, Vedang Raina, Sharvari, and Naseeruddin Shah, the one-minute thirteen-second clip highlights a heartbreaking love story. Diljit Dosanjh narrates as Vedang Raina plays the younger version of Naseer, with Sharvari portraying his lover, capturing a tale of love, longing, and separation.
Main Vaapas Aaunga is slated for theatrical release on June 12, 2026, promising a deeply emotional cinematic experience.
