Malayalam cinema’s most gripping thriller universe is back in the spotlight as Mohanlal officially unveiled the trailer of Drishyam 3, sending fans into a wave of excitement across social media. Directed by Jeethu Joseph, Drishyam 3 continues the intense saga that first redefined the thriller genre in Malayalam cinema. The story picks up nearly four-and-a-half years after Drishyam 2, with Georgekutty once again finding himself under the shadow of suspicion. The trailer hints at a renewed police investigation into the old murder case, suggesting that the past is far from buried. One officer even remarks that Georgekutty always anticipates police moves and prepares accordingly—setting the stage for another psychological battle of wits.

Originally scheduled for an earlier release, the film was postponed due to international concerns affecting overseas distribution, before finally locking its new global release date of May 21, 2026. The film was shot across scenic Kerala locations including Thodupuzha, Vagamon, Ernakulam, and Thiruvalla between September and December 2025.
