The excitement surrounding Aakhri Sawal continues to grow as the makers unveiled more details about the intense political drama at its recent trailer launch event in Mumbai. With a compelling storyline, emotionally charged performances, and a powerhouse cast led by Sanjay Dutt, the film is already generating strong conversations among cinema lovers.
The story follows a volatile scholar named Vicky Hegde, played by Namashi Chakraborty, who accuses his mentor Professor Gopal Nadkarni, portrayed by Sanjay Dutt, of academic bias after his thesis gets rejected. What starts as a personal confrontation soon spirals into a national debate, exposing long-buried secrets and shaking the system from within.
Apart from Sanjay Dutt and Namashi Chakraborty, the film also stars Amit Sadh as Aditya Rao, Sameera Reddy as Professor Pallavi Menon, and Neetu Chandra as Kavya Rawat. Writer Utkarsh Naithani, while speaking about the film, couldn’t stop praising the entire ensemble cast and their performances.
Talking about actress Tridha Choudhury’s role in the film, Utkarsh said: “I would like to highlight a specific point—taking Tridha Choudhury as Saara, for instance. She reminds me of the blade of a sword: it is the sharpest edge—the very cutting edge—yet it is often the least conspicuous part to the eye; nevertheless, it is the part that leaves the deepest impact and inflicts the most profound wound. When you watch the film, you will notice someone making an entrance—and every time a particular actor delivers a line, that line will stick with you—indelibly—just like Tridha. That is how exceptional her performance is. Simply remarkable!”
Utkarsh also had special praise for Amit Sadh and revealed how deeply involved the actor became in shaping the emotional layers of the film: “And as for the narrator, Amit Sadh—there was so much variation and depth to his work that, at one point, we were actually considering crediting him as a co-writer on the film! But truly, it is a lovely addition to the movie.”
However, the biggest surprise came when Utkarsh passionately spoke about Namashi Chakraborty and predicted a huge future for the young actor. He highlighted the challenge of sharing screen space with a towering personality like Sanjay Dutt while maintaining intensity and confidence as a performer.
“And last but not least, I really want to say one thing—mark my words: a day will come......a day will come when all of you will say, ‘Yes, during that film, we actually had the opportunity to ask Mr. Namashi Chakraborty questions face-to-face!’ Because this man is destined to become a massive star in the future; he is such a brilliant actor. Just think about it: it is one thing to perform with deference, but through his acting, he had to face Sanjay ji as an equal—as a man who considers himself his peer. Just imagine for a moment: when this giant of a man locks eyes with you, even the most formidable figures tend to lose their nerve! But in this movie—the way he has pulled it off... the way he has executed it is absolutely brilliant.”
Directed by Abhijeet Mohan Warang and produced by Nikhil Nanda alongside Sanjay Dutt, Aakhri Sawal promises a gripping cinematic experience packed with confrontation, emotion, ideology, and layered performances. The film is slated for a theatrical release on 15 May 2026.
