Lionsgate has dropped the first trailer for Everything’s Going to Be Great, a vibrant, feel-good dramedy set in the chaotic, colorful world of regional theater. Directed by Jon S. Baird (Stan & Ollie), the film stars Bryan Cranston and Allison Janney as two aging thespians still chasing curtain calls while juggling family, identity, and a whole lot of backstage drama.
Cranston and Janney play Buddy and Macy Smart, a longtime theater couple whose love for the stage is only rivaled by their wildly different approaches to parenting. Their sons—played by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth and Jack Champion—couldn't be more opposite, yet their coming-of-age journeys are central to this multigenerational story of misfits trying to find their spotlight. Rounding out the cast are Simon Rex and Chris Cooper, adding depth and eccentricity to the ensemble.
Written by Steven Rogers (I, Tonya), the film blends zany theater antics with touching moments of vulnerability, charting a family's path through self-doubt, ambition, and ultimately, acceptance.
