Actor Aditya Rawal, son of veteran star Paresh Rawal, is steadily carving his own space in the industry. After impressing audiences with a grey-shaded role in the hit series Daldal, the young actor is now stepping into even darker territory as the antagonist in the upcoming action drama Subedaar. And if his words are anything to go by, the journey has been nothing short of exhilarating.
Speaking about his recent success and transition into a more menacing character, Aditya shared his heartfelt gratitude. He said, “First of all I am just terribly grateful to be here to have been given an opportunity like this and Daldal you know everyone involved is much the same weather it's Amazon weather it's Abundantia weather it's opening image and I am just terribly glad to be here so, it's been a sort of a big enjoyment for me from the beginning right up to this moment. So, yeah, I mean it's just great and as far as a character is concerned for me it was that you know ah Prajwal and Suresh sir the character that they have written. I think it's just phenomenal. So, one head to just sort of step into their world and sort of let him be the character sort of go off into the wild being guided by sir. And then everybody, now, and then you let your inclusive thoughts win, and then there's sort of a little bit of enhancement added there. So it's just an absolute pleasure, absolute joy, to be a part of this film.”
Directed by Suresh Triveni, Subedaar features Anil Kapoor in the titular role, alongside Radhika Madan, Saurabh Shukla, Mona Singh, and Faisal Malik. Set in Madhya Pradesh, the film follows Subedaar Arjun Maurya, a retired soldier struggling to adapt to civilian life while battling corruption and societal dysfunction. As he attempts to mend his fractured relationship with his daughter Shyama, Arjun is forced to rely on his military discipline and combat skills to protect his family.
Aditya also opened up about the electrifying atmosphere on set and the camaraderie among the cast. He added, “So, a lot of that was done before the action was called, you know. [laughs] Because when I'm telling you, when you're on set with Anil sir, with Suresh sir, with Saurabh sir, you just understand like, yes, they're working terribly hard, yes, Dev's done amazing work. But there's also a sense of joy that they bring to the work, right? And it motivates you in a way. It's not just, oh, look how hard these amazing people are working, but also look at the joy they're deriving from the work, and then it just makes you feel compared to doing the same, so it really does feel like at the end of the day you don't want to go home”.
The film is backed by Abundantia Entertainment, Opening Image Films, and Anil Kapoor Film & Communication Network, and is slated to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on 5 March 2026.
