There’s a buzz in Bollywood, and it’s not just because of the cast — it’s the story behind Ikkis, the legacy it carries, and the real-life hero it brings to the big screen. Maddock Films and Dinesh Vijan have officially announced the release date of Ikkis, the much-awaited war-drama directed by National Award-winner Sriram Raghavan, and the film is set to release worldwide on October 2, 2025, coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti.
At the heart of this film is the inspiring true story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India’s youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, who laid down his life in the 1971 Indo-Pak war at just 21 years of age. Ikkis doesn’t just tell a war story — it celebrates courage, sacrifice, and an unwavering sense of duty.
Leading the cast is Agastya Nanda, making his big-screen debut after grabbing attention with The Archies on OTT. As the grandson of Amitabh Bachchan, expectations are high, but the announcement video has already generated major buzz — clocking over 2.5 million views, signaling strong public curiosity and support for this rising star.
Agastya is joined by two heavyweights — veteran Dharmendra, who brings gravitas and legacy to the film, and Jaideep Ahlawat, one of today’s most respected performers. Together, the trio promises a powerful onscreen dynamic. The film also stars Simar Bhatia in a key role.
In a post, Maddock Films wrote: “Dinesh Vijan & Maddock Films present #Ikkis – A True Story of a Brave Soldier and Son, Arun Khetarpal, India’s Youngest Param Vir Chakra Hero. Releasing in cinemas worldwide on 2nd Oct 2025.”
With cinematography by Anil Mehta, and a production team including Binny Padda, Sharada Karki, and Poonam Vijan, the film is being positioned not just as a tribute, but a cinematic experience rooted in emotion and realism.
Post-Badlapur, this marks another big collaboration between Sriram Raghavan and Dinesh Vijan, and it’s clear that Ikkis is being crafted with both heart and scale. As the countdown to October 2 begins, Ikkis is shaping up to be one of the most emotionally resonant and patriotically charged films of 2025.
