MUBI has dropped the full official trailer for its highly anticipated historical drama series Mussolini: Son of the Century (originally titled M – Son of the Century), based on the acclaimed novel by Antonio Scurati, which won Italy’s prestigious Premio Strega. Slated for a September 10, 2025 release, the series offers a chilling look at the rise of Benito Mussolini and the birth of fascism in 20th-century Italy.
Helmed by celebrated director Joe Wright (Darkest Hour, Atonement), the mini-series stars Luca Marinelli in a transformative role as Mussolini, chronicling his cunning manipulation of democratic systems to seize power—a tale that feels eerily resonant in the current global political climate.
