Television actress Rupali Ganguly marked the five-year milestone of her hit show Anupamaa in a heartwarming way—by introducing fans to a very special member of the cast: her beloved dog. Cradling the furry companion in her arms, Rupali affectionately referred to him as the “star” of the show. "He is not just human, he is the star. He is a celebrity," she said. Describing her dog’s dedication, Rupali shared how he arrives on set every day without fail—whether the shift starts at 7 a.m. or 9 a.m. “Before the shooting, he keeps running up and down checking everything,” she said. “He stays on the old Anupamaa sets… and he also has his own cake.” The actor's admiration for her pet was clear, and it added a unique charm to the celebration.
Beyond the sets, Rupali is widely known for her strong advocacy for animal rights. An ardent animal lover, she has adopted and rescued several stray dogs over the years. In her view, displacing them does more harm than good. She has also voiced the urgent need for stricter laws to combat animal cruelty in the country.
