In a glittering yet thoughtfully curated evening in Mumbai, RPSG Lifestyle Media unveiled the inaugural edition of The Honours, an invitation-only celebration dedicated to recognising artistically significant and culturally resonant work across Indian entertainment. Powered by The Hollywood Reporter India, the platform positions itself as a discerning alternative in an awards landscape often driven by popularity and public voting.

Held at The Great Room at the Four Seasons Hotel, Mumbai, the event brought together nearly 150 leading voices from across the industry — from actors and filmmakers to producers and creative decision-makers. Conceived as a convocation rather than a conventional awards ceremony, the evening focused squarely on craft, credibility, and meaningful contribution. As Chairperson Avarna Jain noted, The Honours is about valuing artistry over applause and celebrating excellence with integrity.

What sets The Honours apart is its editorial foundation. There were no public nominations, no fan-driven polls, and no rankings. Honourees were selected through a rigorous editorial process led by the leadership at The Hollywood Reporter India, involving extensive viewing, critical deliberation, and consensus. Editor Anupama Chopra described the initiative as a platform that champions work that moves the industry forward and recognises the collaborative teams shaping the future of Indian storytelling.

The inaugural edition presented 17 Honours across multiple categories. Under Streaming Excellence, titles such as Black Warrant, Black, White & Gray – Love Kills, Khauf, Paatal Lok – Season 2, and The Ba**ds of Bollywood* were celebrated. In the Movies Excellence category, films including Bison Kaalamaadan, Homebound, Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1, Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, and Saiyaara were recognised, while Dhurandhar received The Honour for the Biggest Box Office.

The evening also spotlighted exceptional individual achievements. Kareena Kapoor Khan was named The Honours Icon, while the THR Spotlight recognised talents including Basil Joseph, Dulquer Salmaan, Lakshmipriya Devi, Rohan Kanawade, and Vicky Kaushal. The guest list reflected the diversity and dynamism of Indian cinema, with attendees such as Shabana Azmi, Karan Johar, Anil Kapoor, Imtiaz Ali, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and many more shaping the cinematic conversation today.

Backed by partners including Johnnie Walker Luxe Blended Water, BMW Excellence Club, and Four Seasons Hotel, Mumbai, The Honours signals a pivotal moment for Indian entertainment — one that aligns the industry’s creative output with its growing global ambition. In a space filled with celebration, this new platform makes a clear statement: excellence deserves not just applause, but thoughtful recognition.
