Acclaimed actress Konkona Sen Sharma is back in the world of Anurag Basu’s cinema with Metro... In Dino—the spiritual successor to his much-loved Life in a... Metro (2007). Interestingly, she is the only cast member from the original film returning in this new chapter, and for her, the experience has been nothing short of a homecoming.
At the music launch event of the film’s first song Zamana Lage, Konkona reflected on her emotional response to the track and the joyful experience of collaborating with Pankaj Tripathi for the first time. She said , "“It was so much fun working with Pankaj for the first time. I was very excited. "
Talking about the song 'Zamana lage' she said, "“When I heard ‘Zamana Lage’ and watched it, tears came to my eyes. It’s just one of those soulful songs that touches you deeply. I’m so happy it’s part of the film. Normally in acting, you have dialogues and expressions, but the emotions of a character don’t just come from the actor—they come from everything: the director, the music, the entire creative process. And here, it all came together. It felt so wholesome.”
Calling it a “homecoming,” Konkona expressed heartfelt admiration for Anurag Basu’s unique style and creative vision.“When Anurag called me, I was genuinely happy. It felt like coming back home. It’s always lovely to work with people who have a playful attitude towards life. I have deep admiration for his craft—it’s almost unfathomable what he does.”
Metro... In Dino promises to be a modern-day urban saga, featuring four intertwined stories exploring love and longing in today’s fast-paced world. With a powerhouse ensemble cast—Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Neena Gupta, and Anupam Kher—the film is set against the backdrop of ever-evolving Indian cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, and Pune.
The music, composed by Pritam, adds another emotional layer to the film, and if Zamana Lage is any indication, audiences can expect a soul-stirring journey when the film hits theatres on July 4.
