Thakur Anoop Singh, known for his work in television and South Indian films, is now making his much-anticipated debut in the Hindi film industry with Romeo S3, releasing on 16 May 2025. In this high-octane action film directed by Guddu Dhanoa and backed by Pen Studios, Anoop takes on a powerful role that he believes came to him at just the right time in his journey.

Reflecting on his career so far, Anoop shared, “Earlier, my ideology was just to keep working... But times have changed. Now, the definition of a hero and villain isn’t so black and white. Even a single well-executed scene can leave a lasting impact. People remember that.”

For Anoop, who has spent over a decade working across mediums, Romeo S3 was a step he had long been preparing for. “My struggle was that I had already done so much work. I needed something new. This was one part of my journey that I hadn’t explored. If I had gotten this role earlier, maybe I would’ve been scared or missed something. But now, I was ready. I heard a voice from within.”

The actor credits the last ten years of experience as a crucial build-up to this moment: “Everything I’ve done over the last decade prepared me for this. When this opportunity came, it felt like a blessing. I knew I was finally ready.”

His association with Pen Studios had also been brewing for a while. “I had been wanting to collaborate with Pen Studios for a long time. They told me, ‘We’ll be the ones to launch you in Hindi films.’ So I waited. But I also told myself—when I bounce back, I’ll come with something big.”

Anoop didn’t want to do a stereotypical villain role. He gave himself the time to evolve—both mentally and physically. “I didn’t want to play the typical villain. I trained in martial arts, explored different fighting styles, and dedicated a whole year to action. Since this is an action film, I gave it everything.”

Preparing for Romeo S3 also involved refining his acting skills. “I started watching theatre, approached various actors for insights, and kept brushing up my craft. By the time I had the script and dialogues in my hand, I was so hungry for this that I felt like I’d squeeze every drop out of it.”

The film was completed in a tight schedule of 43 days. “We had all prepared intensely. Everyone knew their job, and it came together seamlessly.”
