Saurabh Sachdeva, known for his role of Abid Haque in Animal, said social media is a problem, because you lose your authenticity in this race.
Saurabh was interacting with media during the special screening of new series titled Blue Tick, which explores the highs and lows of internet stardom.
Addressing the flip side of social media and youngster crossing lines to become famous, Saurabh said, “It is a problem, I will say that much, I will not engage into this because I think in this race, you forget yourself. You forget your own quality, you forget about your own self, and you forget your authenticity as well, and in competition, you will always find yourself at the bottom, find your own competition, feel your own self, I like that a lot”
“I think most of the people don’t know how to handle social media, it can be a great platform, to connect with each other, to advertise, to build your business, people who knows how to tackle it, are making money, those who don’t, they struggle” added Saurabh.
When asked if he ever tried to get the verified blue-tick, Saurabh added, “Everyone is running around to get that Blue-Tick on their Instagram, I didn’t run after it, but my team argued in favor of getting a blue tick, they were like, you get a blue tick, and you will become famous.”
Directed by Shubham Singh and written by Tarun Rajput, the show ‘Blue Tick, stars Siddharth Nigam, Parul Gulati, Neeraj Sood, Neelu Singh, and Shreya Gupto among others. The series is produced by Folklore Film Studios, slated to stream from 19th July on Epic On!.
