Veteran actor Pankaj Tripathi is all set to return to the big screen with Anurag Basu’s much-awaited anthology film Metro... In Dino. Following the release of the film’s first look and its debut song Zamana Lage, both of which have received an outpouring of love from audiences, excitement is steadily building ahead of the film’s release on July 4.
In Metro... In Dino, Tripathi will be seen sharing screen space with the immensely talented Konkona Sen Sharma, and fans are already buzzing with anticipation to witness the dynamic between the two powerhouses of performance.
At the launch of Zamana Lage, Pankaj Tripathi spoke warmly about his collaboration with director Anurag Basu, praising the filmmaker’s unique vision and the way he’s been cast in the film.“For me, this is very interesting because no filmmaker has ever thought to use me the way Anurag Dada has—just like he did in Ludo and now again in this film. I’m truly excited for July 4 and can’t wait to see how the audience receives it.”
Tripathi’s words reflect not only admiration for Basu’s craft but also his own excitement at being seen in a new light—a testament to Basu’s ability to tap into unexplored shades of even the most seasoned actors.
Metro... In Dino is a spiritual sequel to Basu’s acclaimed Life in a... Metro, and this time it captures four modern love stories shaped by the chaos, complexities, and connections of life in today's cities. With an ensemble cast including Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Neena Gupta, and Anupam Kher, the film traverses through Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, and Pune—each city playing a key role in the storytelling.
Set to a soulful soundtrack by Pritam, who once again teams up with Basu, the film blends poetry, realism, and heartfelt emotion. With changing times, changing cities, and changing love, Metro... In Dino promises to be a cinematic experience that resonates deeply with today’s audience.
The film is all set to release on 4 July, 2025 in cinemas near you.
