Searchlight Pictures has just unveiled the trailer for Nightbitch, a highly anticipated film written and directed by acclaimed American filmmaker Marielle Heller. Based on Rachel Yoder's best-selling novel of the same name, the movie promises to be a compelling and unique addition to the genre.
The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast led by Amy Adams, who takes on the role of Mother, a former city artist who finds herself grappling with the monotony of suburban life and the challenges of motherhood. Adams is joined by Scoot McNairy, Arleigh Patrick Snowden, Emmett James Snowden, Zoë Chao, Mary Holland, Archana Rajan, and Jessica Harper, each adding depth and nuance to the narrative.
In Nightbitch, Adams’ character, simply referred to as Mother, has traded her dynamic city life for a more isolated suburban existence. Her husband’s frequent business trips leave her alone with their toddler son, a situation that brings both profound love and overwhelming exhaustion. The film explores her journey as she struggles with the mundane reality of diaper changes and the emotional disconnect she feels from other mothers and her own former self.
