Netflix has released the official trailer for Billionaires’ Bunker — an intense new Spanish-language series set entirely within a luxurious underground shelter. From the creators of Money Heist, this claustrophobic, high-stakes drama explores how the ultra-rich attempt to outlast an imminent global war from the safety of an opulent bunker called Kimera Underground Park. Set to premiere on September 19, 2025, the series offers a biting commentary on privilege, paranoia, and the collapse of social order — all from inside a literal golden hole in the ground.
The story follows two powerful families with a tense and unresolved past, now trapped together as the world above them descends into chaos. Despite their ultra-secure surroundings — featuring everything from a spa and basketball court to a zen garden and psychologist’s office — the pressure of confinement begins to crack their polished exteriors. Secrets unravel, tempers flare, and long-standing feuds reignite as these billionaires are forced to coexist in an environment where money means nothing, but manipulation is everything.
Billionaires’ Bunker, also known by its Spanish title El refugio atómico, features a large ensemble cast including Miren Ibarguren, Joaquín Furriel, Natalia Verbeke, Carlos Santos, Montse Guallar, Pau Simón, Alicia Falcó, Agustina Bisio, and Álex Villazán. The actors take on the roles of morally gray characters battling not only each other, but also their own demons in a pressure cooker of luxury and looming apocalypse.
Created by Money Heist masterminds Álex Pina and Esther Martínez Lobato, the series blends social satire with psychological thriller. The writing team includes David Barrocal, David Oliva, Lorena G. Maldonado, and Humberto Ortega, with direction by Jesús Colmenar, David Barrocal, and Jose Manuel Cravioto. Produced by Vancouver Media, the same studio behind Berlin and Sky Rojo, the show promises a slick production design and fast-paced storytelling that fans of Pina’s work have come to expect.
With its bold premise, layered characters, and a setting as lavish as it is suffocating, Billionaires’ Bunker is poised to be one of Netflix’s most talked-about releases this fall. Equal parts thriller and social experiment, it asks one unsettling question: what happens when the world's richest people have everything—except a way out?
