After captivating audiences across the country with Hanu-Man, actor Teja Sajja is all set to take fans on yet another fantastical journey with his upcoming film Mirai. The trailer has already ignited excitement among moviegoers, teasing a visually grand, high-concept fantasy action-adventure rooted in Indian mythology and ancient secrets.
In a heartfelt conversation about the film, Teja expressed his gratitude for the immense love Hanu-Man received from Hindi-speaking audiences and shared insights into what makes Mirai a theatrical experience like no other.
“I am very happy and thankful to the Hindi audience who came to theatres and embraced Hanu-Man. Mirai is an action-adventure with deep fantasy elements. It draws from our Indian itihaas (history and mythology) and is truly made for the big screen. There are only a few films every year that deserve a theatrical watch – Mirai is one of them. It’s a film meant for everyone – from kids to the elderly – and it's relevant across all languages.”
Teja further revealed that Mirai explores a secret myth surrounding Emperor Ashoka, blending it with fantasy and modern-day stakes.“There’s a myth around Ashoka’s secret – the legend of the Nine Scriptures. No one knows if it's real or not, but we took the liberty to imagine: what if someone in today’s world is trying to steal the ancient scriptures preserved by these guardians? What if the key to preventing future catastrophes already lies in our itihaas? What if there's a secret weapon hidden for centuries? Mirai is about a hero who discovers this truth and sets out on a journey to protect it. It’s a thrilling mix of Indian mythology and modern fantasy.”
Despite the scale of the film, Teja emphasizes that it was made with limited resources and pure ambition. “Making a film is hard. Making an ambitious film that releases across India in multiple languages is even harder – especially when you come from nowhere. I have no film background. The only thing I had was a big dream. Within our limitations, we’ve aimed to create something that stands shoulder to shoulder with the biggest films that release every year.”
