Kartik Aaryan and acclaimed filmmaker Kabir Khan are coming together once again, and this time they have an inspiring new story to tell. After winning hearts with their previous collaboration Chandu Champion, the actor-director duo is reuniting for an upcoming film titled Ladaku. The makers have officially announced June 18, 2027, as the worldwide theatrical release date, creating excitement among movie lovers. Presented in association with Ananya Birla's Birla Studios, the film is being described as an emotional and heartwarming entertainer that celebrates ambition, courage, determination and hope. With a promising creative team and an inspiring story at its centre, Ladaku is already attracting attention.
The reunion of Kartik Aaryan and Kabir Khan is one of the biggest talking points surrounding the announcement. Their 2024 film Chandu Champion showcased Kartik in a completely different avatar, as he portrayed India's first Paralympic gold medallist, Murlikant Petkar. The actor received considerable appreciation for his physical transformation and dedication to the demanding role, while Kabir Khan's direction brought an emotional quality to the biographical sports drama. The film also earned major recognition, including National Award honours. Their successful collaboration has naturally raised expectations for Ladaku, with audiences curious to see what the duo has planned for their next cinematic outing.
However, Ladaku comes with another major development in Kartik's career. The film will mark his debut as a producer under his newly launched banner, Dopamine Studios. Alongside his acting responsibilities, Kartik is now stepping into the world of film production, adding another exciting dimension to his professional journey. For an actor who has steadily built his position in the Hindi film industry through a variety of commercial entertainers and performance-driven projects, this move represents an important new chapter. His decision to back a story centred on inspiration and determination also suggests that he is interested in exploring meaningful subjects beyond his on-screen performances.
The project is being produced by Birla Studios and Kabir Khan Entertainment, along with Kartik Aaryan's Dopamine Studios. Ananya Birla's association through Birla Studios adds another interesting element to the production. Priti Shahani and Akshita Shah are also associated with the project. Although the makers have kept several details about the storyline and supporting cast under wraps, the film has been positioned as an emotional family entertainer with a strong inspirational foundation. Reports suggest that the story is inspired by Kashmiri kickboxing champion Tajamul Islam, whose extraordinary journey has become an example of courage and determination. If the reported inspiration forms the foundation of the film, audiences could get to witness a powerful story about a young achiever who refused to let circumstances decide her future.
The title Ladaku itself suggests a spirit of fighting against challenges and never giving up. Rather than presenting inspiration through grand speeches alone, the film is expected to explore the emotional struggles, sacrifices and personal victories that shape an extraordinary journey. Kabir Khan has previously demonstrated his ability to bring real-life stories to the big screen through films such as Chandu Champion and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. His storytelling style often combines emotional depth with engaging cinematic moments, making him an interesting choice for a project of this nature. Kartik, meanwhile, gets another opportunity to challenge himself with a role that could demand both emotional intensity and physical preparation.
With its theatrical release locked for June 18, 2027, Ladaku has become an exciting addition to Kartik Aaryan's upcoming film lineup. The project brings together a successful actor-director combination, a fresh production venture and a story rooted in ambition and perseverance. More details about the film's cast, shooting schedule, first-look poster and promotional campaign are expected to emerge in the coming months. For Kartik, the film is especially important as it marks his first step into film production through Dopamine Studios. For audiences, the biggest attraction will be seeing him reunite with Kabir Khan after Chandu Champion. If the new collaboration manages to recreate the emotional impact of their previous film while offering a fresh and inspiring story, Ladaku could become a memorable theatrical experience when it arrives worldwide on June 18, 2027.
