Aryan Khan made his long-awaited directorial debut officially unforgettable—with humour, charm, and just the right amount of self-deprecating swag. At the grand launch of his upcoming OTT series The Ba**ds of Bollywood*, held in Mumbai, Aryan took the stage with a candid confession that won the crowd over instantly: “I have been practising this speech for the past two days and three nights... And even if I make a mistake, Papa is here—backup.”
With Shah Rukh Khan proudly watching from the front row (in matching black, no less), the young director introduced the series that has been four years in the making, calling it a project built on “hard work, endless discussions, and thousands of takes.”
Aryan, dressed in an all-black ensemble, perfectly matched the sleek tone of the event—joined by his parents, Gauri and Shah Rukh Khan, in coordinated black. But it was his heartfelt thanks that sealed the moment: after acknowledging the show's cast and crew, Aryan invited his mom on stage with a cheeky, “Thank you for producing the show… and for producing me.”
The Ba**ds of Bollywood* is a sharp, edgy look at the dream machine that is Bollywood—a place where ambition runs wild, and not all dreams are welcome. The series stars Lakshya, Sahher Bambba, Bobby Deol, Mona Singh, Manoj Pahwa, Raghav Juyal, and Anya Singh, with jaw-dropping cameos by Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh, Karan Johar, and a much-hyped appearance by Ranbir Kapoor.
Set to premiere on September 18, 2025, on an OTT platform via Red Chillies Entertainment, Aryan’s debut promises a razor-sharp blend of satire, glamour, and gut-punch storytelling. From romancing Bollywood royalty to navigating messy fame, the preview already has fans talking.
With Papa as backup and mom as producer, Aryan Khan is officially ready for his close-up—and so are we.
