Ektaa Kapoor, a titan of Indian television and film production, has frequently collaborated with Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor Khan, resulting in a series of successful films such as Udta Punjab, Veerey Di Wedding, Crew, and the highly anticipated The Buckingham Murders. In a recent discussion about their cinematic partnership, Kapoor offered a candid perspective on the commercial pressures and gender dynamics at play in the Bollywood industry.

When asked about commercial pressure with every release, especially for a female producer and female superstar, Ektaa said, “Every film of mine with Kareena always has a prediction of four or five, and it opens at ten every time. I am sure it will not happen with this movie, as this is a different kind of movie, but till now she has always done that.”
“When you do a commercially viable big budget Bollywood film which is a comedy, it doesn’t matter whether you’re a male superstar or female superstar, and when you do a film which is credible it has a different Lense altogether, it also will work out if the budget is planned” added Ektaa Kapoor.
Helmed by Hansal Mehta, the film also stars Ranveer Brar, Sarah Jane Dias, Keith Allen, Chris Wilson, Ash Tandon, and many more. The film also features Kapil Redekar, Jonathan Nyati, Darren Kemp, Charles Craddock, Rukku Nahar, Haqi Ali, and Adwoa Akoto.
Produced by Kareena Kapoor Khan, Shobha Kapoor, and Ekta Kapoor, the film is slated for a theatrical release on September 13, 2024. Additionally, it is expected to have a streaming release on Netflix, though the exact date is yet to be confirmed.
