Akshay Oberoi may not be a household name yet, but his body of work speaks volumes about persistence, range, and a quiet, unshakable fire. He began his career with a dream debut playing the lead in Rajshri Productions’ Isi Life Mein.. one of the most prestigious banners in Bollywood. While most would expect that kind of start to catapult a newcomer into stardom, Akshay’s journey has taken a different path — one filled with resilience, reinvention, and relentless determination.
Over the years, he has built a strong filmography, often appearing in critically acclaimed projects and playing interesting roles alongside big stars. Yet, the one thing that has continued to elude him is a main lead role in a big-budget, mainstream Bollywood film.
In a recent candid conversation, Akshay opened up about this very struggle — not with bitterness, but with deep belief in himself and in time.
“I’m quite stubborn, maybe even a little crazy,” Akshay said with a smile. “But I always feel — if not today, then tomorrow. And if not this project, I’ll prove myself with the next. It’s okay if I’m standing next to a big actor today — I’ll still leave behind an impression. That impression might just get me my next opportunity. If not this time, then next time — that’s the thought I’ve always carried with me.”
Reflecting on his filmography, he acknowledged the difference between consistent work and breakthrough fame: “Yes, I’ve played leads in smaller films. But no one has given me a lead role in a big-budget movie. Still, I believe — one day it will happen.
I truly believe that. Whether you call it madness or stubbornness, this belief exists deep inside me. Even if you look at it through mathematics or probability — one day will tilt in my favour. One day, I’ll get what I truly deserve.”
Akshay’s words resonate with many artists in the industry and outside it those who continue to show up, give their best, and believe in their craft, even when the big break hasn’t come yet. With his talent, work ethic, and steady rise, perhaps that one big Friday is just around the corner — and if it is, he’ll have truly earned it.
