While Golmaal 5 may be grabbing headlines for controversy and speculation, Tusshar Kapoor is looking at the franchise with gratitude rather than noise. The actor, who immortalized the mute-but-hilarious Lucky Gill, recently opened up in an interview about how the Golmaal series became the single biggest turning point of his career. According to Tusshar, no matter how many films he did before, it was Rohit Shetty’s comedy universe that truly connected him with the masses.

Reflecting on his journey, Tusshar candidly admitted that while films like Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai, Khakee, and Kyaa Kool Hai Hum brought him recognition—especially among younger audiences—it was Golmaal that made him a familiar face across households. “The wider audience recognition has happened only thanks to Golmaal,” he said, calling it one of the best decisions of his career. In a film industry where reach matters as much as range, that distinction clearly means a lot to him.

Interestingly, Tusshar revealed that when he first signed Golmaal, he had no idea Lucky Gill would become such an iconic character. All he knew was that it was a big film with strong actors and that his role was “different.” Playing a mute character in a loud comedy was a risk, but one he embraced with what he described as “positive nervous energy.” His only hope back then? That the film would work and entertain audiences—and history shows it did much more than that.

Amid all this, Golmaal 5 has recently stirred online chatter, with reports claiming the film would reinterpret the classic comedy Do Aur Do Paanch. The makers have denied these claims, but the buzz hasn’t died down. Even so, Tusshar has stayed focused on the legacy of the franchise rather than the rumors, emphasizing how organically his character grew into pop culture memory.

Looking back at his 25-year-long career, Tusshar Kapoor also highlighted roles that stayed close to his heart. Apart from Golmaal, he received immense appreciation for Khakee and Shor In The City. In fact, his performance in Shor In The City stands out as particularly personal, as he felt it mirrored real Mumbai life closely. For Tusshar, these roles weren’t just performances—they were lived experiences, and that authenticity is what continues to define his journey.
