Actor Tamannaah Bhatia brought energy, excitement, and genuine fan enthusiasm to Mumbai Comic Con 2026 as she attended the launch of the Vvan comic book. The actress spoke passionately about storytelling, comic culture, and the growing universe around the upcoming folk-thriller Vvan, while also showering praise on co-star Sidharth Malhotra and the creative minds behind the project.
Speaking at the event, Tamannaah reflected on her first-ever Comic Con appearance and how her connection with comic culture began years ago through Baahubali. She said, “It's my first time at Comic-Con Mumbai. But my journey with Comic-Con actually started with this really amazing film called Bahubali. That was the first time that I got introduced to the loyal fans of comic books. I just feel super lucky that in the time and age we are, there are so many different mediums of entertainment and I am extremely lucky to be working with producers, filmmakers who really care about expressing stories in different mediums because I have to tell you the story that Deepak and Arnab have made for the comic book, I kid you not, is so fantastic.”
The actress also praised the creators for their commitment to storytelling and admitted that some scenes from the comic were so powerful she wished they could appear in the film itself. Tamannaah added, “Honestly, I feel like uh now I would be like we've shot a lot of one, but I was like there's some scenes I'm like they should be there in our movie. So I think they are so passionate about storytelling and I feel like they are truly the future in the sense that be it long form be it a comic book or a feature they can pull off anything.”
Tamannaah’s comments also turned into a sweet appreciation post for Sidharth Malhotra, who stars in Vvan. Calling him “India’s heartthrob,” she said, “And I'm so happy Sid is doing this film because I think he is India's heartthrob and he's just Be it millennials or genzies, I cannot tell you the number of friends and friends nieces that have called me that I was working with Sid and they were also excited because everyone thinks that Sidhart is the heartthrob of our nation.” Her statement received loud cheers from fans present at the event.
She further highlighted the untapped potential of folklore storytelling in Indian entertainment, saying, “So I'm so excited that you chose to do this because I feel the folklore that we have in our country is so untapped but actually science. So, I feel like now when we're telling these stories, they're all feeling very relevant. They're all feeling very meaningful. And I'm glad that it's being put into a commercial format so everyone can consume it.” Tamannaah also encouraged audiences to explore the comic itself, praising its visuals and artwork. “I love the poster. You guys have to have to have to see the stuff that they've done inside. The artwork is brilliant,” she added.
The Vvan comic book launch brought together a star-studded lineup including Ektaa Kapoor, Sidharth Malhotra, Prajakta Koli, and the creative team behind the project. Designed as an expansion of the film’s universe, the comic aims to deepen the mythology and storytelling ahead of the movie’s theatrical release on August 28, 2026.
With Tamannaah’s passionate endorsement and growing curiosity around the project, Vvan is already shaping up to be one of the most intriguing folk-thriller universes emerging from Indian entertainment.
