Sony Music India has released the first musical treat from the much-awaited rom-com sequel Ginny Weds Sunny 2. The debut track, “Chhaap Tilak,” dropped with a 30-second teaser showcasing vibrant family dance sequences in pastel wedding attire, featuring the lead pair Avinash Tiwary and Medha Shankr.
Blending 13th-century Sufi lyrics by Amir Khusro with contemporary rap by Paradox and the vocals of emerging singer Heer, the song captures the festive energy of Indian weddings. Fans have praised the chemistry between the leads, while a few critics noted the high-energy choreography as slightly over-the-top—but it perfectly sets the celebratory tone for the film’s narrative.
“Chhaap Tilak” also marks the Bollywood debut of Heer, who co-composed the track with Amaan Noor, who also penned the lyrics. The song’s hookstep, lively beats, and playful visuals make it a perfect addition to wedding playlists across India.
The film, directed and written by Prasshant Jha, is produced by Vinod Bachchan and Umesh Kumar Bansal, and presented by Zee Studios and Soundrya Production. Alongside the leads, the film features appearances by Lillete Dubey, Sudhir Pandey, and Gopi Bhalla, among others.
With wedding celebrations and musical revelry at the heart of the sequel, “Chhaap Tilak” signals that Ginny Weds Sunny 2 is ready to make a colorful entry into theaters. The romantic comedy is scheduled for theatrical release on April 24, 2026.
