In the video, Prakash Raj alleged that his voter ID was initially marked as “permanently shifted”, which he described as effectively having his voting status removed. According to the actor, the situation was subsequently reversed after the matter attracted public attention and he personally raised the issue. He also referred to call records that, according to him, showed officials had contacted him following the controversy.
The actor questioned the manner in which the matter was subsequently handled by the Karnataka Election Commission. Prakash Raj alleged that instead of simply resolving the issue, the authorities held a press conference and sent a Booth Level Officer (BLO) to his neighbourhood. He questioned the necessity of such a public response and suggested that the episode could have been handled more directly and transparently.
Prakash Raj also objected to what he described as an attempt to shift the responsibility onto him. According to the actor, BJP-linked social media accounts portrayed the situation as though it had occurred because of his own mistake.
