Hulu has unveiled the main trailer for The Testaments, the highly anticipated spin-off of The Handmaid’s Tale. Set 15 years after the events of the original series, the new show follows a fresh generation of young women determined to challenge Gilead’s oppressive regime. The series is set to stream on Hulu (also available on Disney+) starting April 8, 2026.
The story centers on Agnes MacKenzie (played by Chase Infiniti, formerly Hannah Bankole) and Daisy (Lucy Halliday), a newcomer from Canada. Both navigate the brutal environment of Aunt Lydia’s elite preparatory school for future wives, where obedience is enforced with religious justification. Their evolving friendship becomes the spark that could dismantle the regime from within, offering a gripping coming-of-age drama against the backdrop of totalitarian control.
Ann Dowd reprises her role as the formidable Aunt Lydia, while Rowan Blanchard stars as Shunammite. The cast also includes Kira Guloien, Amy Seimetz, Brad Alexander, Birva Pandya, Zarrin Darnell-Martin, Mattea Conforti, Shechinah Mpumlwana, and Mabel Li. Fans are particularly excited to see Chase Infiniti leading the charge as Agnes, a character whose evolution will drive much of the series’ tension and drama.
Created and executive produced by Bruce Miller—known for “Eureka,” “The 100,” and the original “The Handmaid’s Tale”—the series is adapted from The Testaments by Margaret Atwood. The writing team includes Sam Rubinek and Bruce Miller, while episodes are directed by Mike Barker, Shana Stein, Quyen Tran, and Jet Wilkinson.
Produced by Daniel Wilson Productions, The Littlefield Company, White Oak Pictures, Toluca Pictures, and MGM, the series is supported by executive producers including Warren Littlefield, Elisabeth Moss, Steve Stark, Maya Goldsmith, John Weber, Sheila Hockin, Fran Sears, and Mike Barker. The trailer promises a tense, thrilling, and emotionally charged return to Gilead, highlighting themes of rebellion, sisterhood, and moral courage.
Hulu’s The Testaments invites viewers to witness the next chapter in the fight for freedom, with a new generation of women shaping their destinies in the shadows of a decaying regime.
