If you thought you’d seen every version of Akshay Kumar, think again. On Tuesday, the superstar set social media buzzing after dropping the first-look motion poster of his upcoming horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla — and let’s just say, subtlety has officially left the building.
Taking to Instagram on February 24, Akshay Kumar unveiled a striking glimpse of his character, instantly sending fans into speculation mode. Seated shirtless on an ominous throne carved with demonic faces, Akshay sports black sunglasses, layers of Rudraksha beads, and a full-blown tantrik vibe. Clutching a rosary and caught mid-scream, his exaggerated expression perfectly balances spooky and theatrical — a clear sign that Bhooth Bangla is leaning into its horror-comedy chaos.
The caption only added to the intrigue. “Dus ko denge das-tak, intezar karo tab tak... Let the fun begin!” he teased, serving punchline energy before the film has even dropped a trailer. If the motion poster is any indication, audiences can expect jump scares, punchlines, and probably a few meme-worthy moments along the way.
The film also marks a major reunion. Bhooth Bangla brings Akshay back together with director Priyadarshan after nearly 16 years. The duo last collaborated on Khatta Meetha, and fans of their iconic comic timing are already counting down. When these two join forces, cinematic mischief usually follows.
Adding more star power to the haunted house is a stacked ensemble featuring Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Wamiqa Gabbi, and veteran actor Asrani. Presented by Balaji Motion Pictures in association with Cape of Good Films, the project is produced by Akshay Kumar alongside Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor.
And here’s the twist: the film’s release date has been preponed. Originally slated for May 15, Bhooth Bangla will now hit theatres earlier on April 10, 2026. Looks like the ghosts couldn’t wait — and honestly, neither can we.
