Ahan Shetty is basking in the success of Border 2, where he portrayed Mahendra Singh Rawat, an Indian Navy officer in the high-octane war drama set against the backdrop of the 1971 India–Pakistan war. At the film’s success press meet, attended by the entire ensemble cast, Ahan opened up about the overwhelming response he has received and how the role has reshaped his confidence as a young actor in the industry.

Speaking about the love pouring in after the film’s release, Ahan said, “I am getting a lot of love and support, especially from the armed forces family, so I have this sense of confidence now, I got a sense of validation that in future I can represent our soldiers, maybe in another film which have a character either from army, navy or Airforce, so yeah, I am more confident now, because this is my second film, and to be a part of such a big cast, and being a part of such a big film is important to me, I am very happy. I am grateful and thankful to everyone on this stage.”

For the young actor, the appreciation from members of the armed forces holds special meaning. Playing a uniformed officer in a multi-front war drama that showcases the combined operations of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force is no small responsibility—especially in just his second film. Sharing screen space with seasoned stars like Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Diljit Dosanjh has clearly been a defining moment in his early career.

Ahan also spoke about the emotionally charged ‘Maa Shakti’ sequence in the film, revealing how personal the moment was even before the shoot began. He said, “When Anurag narrated me that part of movie, my dad was sitting with me, during the narration, we both looked at each other, and my dad was crying, so I knew that there is going to be a lot of pressure, but when I went on sets, Anurag told me, Ahan be honest, and do what you want to do, and the result is something we all witnessed on screen.” The anecdote offers a glimpse into the emotional preparation behind one of the film’s most talked-about sequences.

Released on January 23, 2026, during the Republic Day weekend, Border 2 has not only received positive reviews but has also become the highest-grossing Indian and Hindi film of 2026, earning ₹464.22 crore worldwide. Featuring Sunny Deol in the lead alongside Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty, with Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh, and Medha Rana in pivotal roles, the film has struck a patriotic chord with audiences. For Ahan Shetty, the success of Border 2 marks more than a box office milestone—it signals the arrival of a confident young actor ready to take on more roles representing India’s armed forces.
