Actor Adah Sharma has unveiled her next project, Super Velli, a quirky and unconventional superhero film that promises to flip the genre on its head. The first look and teaser for the film were released on March 13, 2026, giving audiences a glimpse into a satirical world where the hero is anything but heroic.
Written and directed by Rajesh Bachchani, the film introduces Adah as a chaotic, lazy superhero who would rather nap than save the world. Unlike the polished and disciplined heroes audiences are used to, her character is clumsy, unpredictable, and occasionally so reckless that she might pose as much danger as the villains she’s meant to stop.
The story follows a laid-back police officer in Madhya Pradesh who secretly moonlights as a superhero. Adding a unique twist, the protagonist suffers from Achromatopsia, a condition that causes total colour blindness. This unusual trait not only shapes her perception of the world but also influences the way she approaches crime-fighting — often with chaotic and hilarious results.
The film also hints at an intriguing conflict, with a mysterious supervillain who may or may not turn out to be the protagonist’s own boss. Behind the scenes, the project brings together a creative team that includes music director Shantanu Sawant and cinematographer Prashanth Varma, both contributing to the film’s quirky visual and tonal style.
Interestingly, the title Super Velli came from a viral social media moment when Adah jokingly said “I’m Velli,” meaning idle or out of work. When the comment was taken literally by some outlets, the actor embraced the phrase and turned it into the identity of this unusual superhero. Known for experimenting with bold roles — including her much-discussed performance in The Kerala Story — Adah now seems ready to explore a fresh mix of action, satire, and comedy with Super Velli. While the release date remains under wraps, the concept alone has already sparked plenty of curiosity among fans.
