Music maestro A.R. Rahman created a historic moment at the iconic Attari Border Post as he delivered his first-ever live performance at the landmark location. The special event, titled Jai Ho – A Musical Salute to the Bravehearts, was held during the renowned Beating Retreat Ceremony and served as a heartfelt tribute to the courageous men and women of the Border Security Force (BSF).
Thousands of visitors gathered at the JCP Stadium to witness the unforgettable evening, which celebrated patriotism, gratitude, and national pride. The atmosphere was filled with emotion as Rahman’s music echoed across the border, turning the occasion into a landmark cultural event. The performance also carried special significance for the upcoming film Main Vaapas Aaunga, whose story is deeply connected to the Partition of India and the emotions surrounding separation, loss, and enduring love.
The evening began with filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, Birla Studios' Ananya Birla, actor Vedang Raina, and producer Mohit Choudhary welcoming the audience and expressing gratitude to the BSF. The makers also dedicated the film’s upcoming music album to the courage and sacrifice of India’s armed forces personnel.
Rahman opened the musical tribute with the soulful Chanda Suraj Lakhon Taare before taking audiences into the world of Main Vaapas Aaunga. The film’s songs were brought to life by several performers, with Maskara sung by Nilanjana Ghosh and Vedang Raina, while Ishq Mastana featured the unmistakable voice of Mohit Chauhan alongside Pooja Tiwari and Nargis. The evening reached an emotional peak with Rahman’s iconic anthem Maa Tujhe Salaam, leaving the audience overwhelmed with pride and emotion.
