Pati Patni Aur Woh Do witnessed a healthy jump at the box office on Saturday, giving the makers a much-needed boost after a modest opening day. The romantic comedy recorded an impressive 52.28% growth on its second day, collecting ₹6.67 crore nett across India. With this, the film’s two-day total now stands at ₹11.05 crore nett, after earning ₹4.38 crore on Friday.
The strong Saturday growth has come as a positive sign for the makers and exhibitors, especially considering the film opened below expectations. Trade analysts believe the film has managed to attract family audiences and younger viewers looking for light-hearted weekend entertainment. However, all eyes are now on Sunday collections, which will play a crucial role in determining whether the film can achieve a respectable opening weekend total at the Indian box office.
Directed by Mudassar Aziz, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do serves as a spiritual sequel to the 2019 hit Pati Patni Aur Woh. The film stars Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead alongside Wamiqa Gabbi, Sara Ali Khan, and Rakul Preet Singh. Set in Prayagraj, the film revolves around a chaotic marital comedy packed with misunderstandings, romance, and humorous twists involving multiple women in the protagonist’s life.
Early audience reactions to the film have been mixed but largely entertaining-oriented. While many viewers are enjoying the easy-going humour, quirky dialogues, and energetic performances by the lead cast, some critics feel the screenplay becomes overcrowded with too many subplots. Despite the criticism, the film appears to be benefiting from word-of-mouth among audiences looking for a breezy comedy entertainer.
The coming days will now decide the film’s long-term box office trajectory. If Sunday shows another strong jump, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do could comfortably recover from its slow start and set the stage for a stable first week. With limited competition in the comedy space at the moment, the Ayushmann Khurrana starrer still has room to build momentum.
