The exclusive celebrity screening of the award-winning independent film Shape of Momo turned into a warm and elegant industry gathering at the Lightbox Preview Theatre (Excel Entertainment) in Mumbai. The evening brought together filmmakers, actors, and creators who came to celebrate a film already making waves on the global festival circuit.
 
The special screening was hosted by actor-producer Rana Daggubati in collaboration with acclaimed filmmakers Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti. The film features a powerful cast including Bhanu Maya Rai, Gaumaya Gurung, Pashupati Rai, Rahul Mukhia, and Shyamashree Sherpa. Prior to its India preview, the film had already earned international recognition, including the Grand Jury Award at the Seattle International Film Festival and the Jury Award at the Jaffna International Cinema Festival, along with screenings at prestigious festivals like Busan and San Sebastián.
 
Audience members at the screening reportedly responded with appreciation for the film’s emotional honesty and cultural depth, with many praising its quiet storytelling style and strong performances. The atmosphere inside the venue reflected a sense of pride and celebration for independent cinema receiving global attention.
 
With its official theatrical release scheduled for May 29, 2026 across India and Nepal, Shape of Momo is already positioned as one of the most talked-about independent films of the year, combining strong festival acclaim with growing anticipation among Indian audiences.
