Parvathy Thiruvothu is once again leaving audiences impressed with her latest performance. The National Award-winning actor is receiving widespread praise for her portrayal of Aleena Abraham in the investigative thriller Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakkar, with early reactions on social media calling her performance “FANTABULOUS” and describing her as the “soul of the film.”

Having completed 20 years in the film industry, Parvathy has built a reputation for choosing characters that demand emotional depth rather than simply relying on star power. From Bangalore Days, Ennu Ninte Moideen and Charlie to Take Off, Uyare, Virus, Puzhu and Qarib Qarib Single, the actor’s filmography reflects her willingness to constantly challenge herself.

In Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakkar, Parvathy takes on a very different kind of cop character. She plays Aleena Abraham, a police constable who joins the force through compassionate appointment following the death of her husband. A mother and relatively inexperienced officer, Aleena is suddenly pulled into a complicated investigation after a custodial death.

What appears to be a vulnerable position becomes one of the character’s biggest strengths. Aleena isn't portrayed as an invincible, larger-than-life police officer. Instead, she is observant, emotionally vulnerable and quietly intelligent, allowing the investigation to unfold through her perspective. Parvathy’s restrained performance has become one of the film’s biggest talking points among viewers.

One fan summed up the impact of her performance by writing, “After 20 years, perhaps the biggest thing Parvathy has earned is this... you may forget that you are watching Parvathy Thiruvothu. You start watching the character instead. And that is something worth celebrating.” The reaction highlights perhaps the biggest compliment an actor can receive — completely disappearing into the character.

Another viewer celebrated the unexpected mass appeal of her performance, writing, “Mass Parvathy was not on my bucket list for 2026, we need more!” The same fan went on to describe her as “the soul of the film”, praising her “never-seen-before screen presence.”

A third audience reaction drew a comparison with one of Malayalam cinema’s most iconic investigative characters. Referring to Georgekutty from Drishyam, the fan wrote that Aleena Abraham “stood on par in the level of Georgekutty,” calling the character “so freaking dense” and adding that having “someone as FANTABULOUS as a Parvathy” brought the role to another level.

The praise arrives at an interesting milestone in Parvathy’s career. After two decades in cinema, the actor continues to find roles that allow her to reinvent herself rather than repeat familiar territory. Aleena Abraham appears to be another addition to that growing list of performances where the character takes centre stage.

Parvathy also has an interesting lineup ahead. She will be heard behind the microphone as she lends her voice to Kareena Kapoor Khan’s character in Daayra, Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming crime thriller. She is also set to feature in Hrithik Roshan’s production Strom and the horror-mystery thriller Dhootha 2, along with several other projects in the pipeline.

For an actor who has already spent 20 years building a reputation around authenticity and memorable performances, the response to Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakkar suggests Parvathy is showing no signs of slowing down. If audiences are already calling Aleena Abraham “FANTABULOUS,” it looks like her latest character has found another special place in her impressive filmography.
