Veteran actor Khalid Mahmud starrer Qaid – No Wayyy Out is all set to release in India, after bagging the Cannes World Film Festival Award in LGBTQ Best Movie category, said it is a great movie, which highlights the issues of LGBTQ community, and who is being imprisoned by whom.
Helmed by Sonia W Kohli, starring Tai Khan, Mohinder Mohan Kohli, Ashwini Kinhikar, Ashish Datta, Sonia Goswami, and Khalid Mahmud, is set against the backdrop of London, the film revolves around Jigar, who moves to London to live his life on his terms, but destiny leads him into a trap with no way out.
The movie bagged the prestigious Best Movie Award in 2023, and now headed for theatrical release in India.
Talking about the movie, Khalid said, “I am so grateful to the makers of the film, Sonia Kohli and Kunishka Productions, for giving me an amazing opportunity to be part of such a great film.”
“Qaid, means imprisonment or captivity, so in this love and revenge drama, who is in love and who is seeking revenge, and who is imprisoned by whom, all the answers will be out once the movie releases. You must watch the film and decide for yourself who is being imprisoned here” added Khalid.
The film is based on true events, promising audiences an immersive journey into the lives of LGBTQ+ individuals grappling with societal prejudice and discrimination.
