Samuel Goldwyn Films has officially released a brand-new trailer for the upcoming creature-feature thriller Kraken, and it looks like audiences are in for an intense underwater nightmare. Packed with terrifying visuals, brutal attacks, and massive tentacles emerging from the depths, the film blends action, horror, mythology, and environmental themes into one explosive cinematic experience. The latest footage has already sparked excitement among horror fans eager for another large-scale monster movie.
Set against the haunting backdrop of Norway’s deepest fjords, Kraken follows marine biologist Johanne, played by Sara Khorami, as she investigates a series of mysterious incidents connected to a remote coastal community. What begins as unusual activity near a fish farm soon spirals into pure terror after deadly events shake the village. As fear spreads, Johanne discovers that an ancient myth may actually be real — a gigantic multi-armed creature hidden beneath the dark waters.
The trailer teases the terrifying scale of the legendary monster, showing enormous tentacles tearing through boats, dragging victims underwater, and unleashing destruction across the fjord. The film appears to combine classic sea-monster horror with modern environmental themes, positioning the creature as a force awakened by ecological damage and human interference with nature.
The atmosphere is tense, cinematic, and visually striking, giving the project the feel of a Scandinavian survival thriller with blockbuster creature-feature energy.
Alongside Sara Khorami, the cast includes Mikkel Bratt Silset, Ingvild Holthe Bygdnes, Øyvind Brandtzæg, Jenny Evensen, and Steinar Klouman Hallert.
Kraken is directed by Norwegian filmmaker Pål Øie, known for genre films like Dark Woods, Hidden, Villmark 2, and The Tunnel. The project is also co-directed by cinematographer Sjur Aarthun, marking his directorial debut. With a screenplay written by Natasha Arthur, Vilde Eide, and Kjersti Helen Rasmussen, the film appears designed to deliver both suspenseful storytelling and large-scale creature spectacle. The film is scheduled to release on June 12, 2026.
