Balaji Motion Pictures has officially announced the exclusive launch of its upcoming folk thriller The Legend of Vvan, also being promoted as Vvan – Force of the Forest, at Comic Con 2026. The grand reveal is set to take place at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai on May 9–10, marking one of the most anticipated film showcases of the event.
The announcement was made via social media, where the makers teased the project as something “legendary in the making,” instantly building curiosity among fans. The film stars Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia in lead roles, bringing together two major names from Bollywood in a genre that blends mythology, folklore, and modern cinematic storytelling.
According to the premise, Vvan follows a rational city man who returns to his ancestral village and defies long-held beliefs tied to a forbidden forest. His actions reportedly awaken powerful mythological forces, including a divine goddess, setting off a chain of supernatural events that blur the line between belief and reality. The film is described as a folk thriller rooted in Indian mythology, designed with large-scale visual effects and immersive world-building.
The project is backed by a strong production lineup including Ektaa R Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor, Arunabh Kumar, and Niraj Kothari, bringing together established industry players and digital entertainment creators. The collaboration signals a blend of mainstream Bollywood storytelling with modern, stylized production sensibilities.
Directed by Deepak Mishra, the film also features cinematography by Manu Anand, with multiple production and creative partners involved, including TVF Motion Pictures and 11:11 Productions. The creative team aims to build a cinematic universe inspired by Indian folklore, with Vvan positioned as a visually rich and mythologically driven narrative.
The promotional materials released so far, including a striking poster, highlight a dark, forest-driven aesthetic, hinting at a mysterious and atmospheric tone. The Comic Con launch is expected to include exclusive reveals, possibly including teaser footage or early visual glimpses of the film’s fantasy world.
With its blend of mythology, folklore, and high-end visual effects, The Legend of Vvan is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious folk-inspired films in development. The project is currently slated for a 2026 theatrical release, with anticipation building steadily ahead of its official Comic Con showcase.
