Actress Anjali Anand is entering an exciting new phase of her career with Dhamaal 4, and while the multi-starrer comedy is one of her biggest projects yet, the actress says her ambitions go far beyond fame. In a candid conversation, Anjali spoke about the actors who inspire her, her hopes for Dhamaal 4, and why she believes hard work and positivity are the real keys to a lasting career.
Speaking about her inspirations as an actor, Anjali revealed that she admires performers who can evoke genuine emotions on screen. "I really love watching Shah Rukh Khan and Akshaye Khanna. I enjoy watching all these actors because an actor's job is to make the audience feel something. So, for me, if I can make someone feel something, then I’ve succeeded in acting," she said, emphasizing that connecting emotionally with audiences is her biggest measure of success.
When asked about Dhamaal 4 and her upcoming projects, Anjali admitted that she cannot reveal much but expressed hope that the comedy franchise opens new doors for her. "We aren't really allowed to talk about upcoming projects. But I’m reading a lot of scripts, and I just hope Dhamaal changes my life a little bit and leads to more projects. I want to do more work. I’m not fame-hungry—you know I don't really make public appearances—but I am hungry for work," she shared.
Elaborating on what success truly means to her, Anjali explained that audience love naturally translates into more opportunities. "Exactly, you want to be a favorite because it’s a cycle, right? If people love you, you get more work, and getting more work helps you become a favorite—so the cycle keeps going," she said. Beyond acting, the actress also spoke about her entrepreneurial side, adding, "I am a businesswoman, and I enjoy that too—creating something. Designing clothes is a creative process, and it makes people happy. That’s what it’s about. I hope a huge film like Dhamaal makes more people recognize me... and makes directors realize, 'Hey, people are coming to the theaters for this girl; she can actually sell tickets. Let’s give her more work.' I hope that happens because... it makes me happy when good, genuine people get more work."
For Anjali, maintaining a positive outlook is just as important as professional success. She believes optimism not only improves life but also reflects in an artist's work. "The more positivity there is, the better the work turns out. And why live in negativity? Everyone has stress in their life. I can either let that stress make me cry all day, or I can embrace it and enjoy life," she said.
Anjali Anand will next be seen alongside Riteish Deshmukh in Dhamaal 4, directed by Indra Kumar. She also has the Manish Malhotra-backed Bun Tikki in her lineup, where she shares screen space with legendary actresses Zeenat Aman and Shabana Azmi. With major projects on the horizon and a clear focus on meaningful work over celebrity status, Anjali is hoping this chapter marks the beginning of an even bigger journey in Indian cinema.
