At the high-energy trailer launch of Glory, Pulkit Samrat addressed comparisons with Salman Khan and his iconic film Sultan, making it clear that he sees the superstar as an inspiration rather than competition. The actor, who plays boxer Ravi Singh in the Netflix series, spoke candidly about stepping into the world of combat sports for the role.
When asked whether his performance could be seen as competition to Salman Khan’s Sultan, Pulkit responded with admiration and respect: “Sultan is the OG inspiration for this entire country; it can never be a competition.”
He also reacted to comparisons with a younger Salman Khan, taking it in stride with a touch of humor: “I really wish I could look like him—even when I’m in my 60s! So, I am actually very happy with that comparison.”
But it was when Pulkit spoke about his personal journey and experience preparing for Glory that the emotion truly came through. Reflecting on what the project means to him, he shared: “I am actually expressing very little, but I am feeling so much more. Seriously, I currently have no words to express myself. It is a truly surreal feeling. It is a very distinct kind of sensation to actually step into the ring and face a professional boxer. Neeraj bhai, thank you so much for being such a sport. And thank you for deeming me worthy enough to stand before you and fight—to go three rounds with you. That truly commands my respect. Seriously. Thank you. And getting the opportunity to represent a sport like boxing through the medium of cinema... I think it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I am incredibly grateful; I feel truly blessed. My mother is watching from over there, so I feel very much protected by that presence. Thank you so much. Thank you very much.”
Adding to the excitement, Pulkit even stepped into the ring during the event for a friendly boxing match with professional boxer Neeraj, giving fans a glimpse of the physical intensity behind his role.
