Rahu Ketu, directed by Vipul Vig, is a small-town comedy set in the scenic hills of Himachal Pradesh. The film follows struggling writer Churu Lal Sharma (Manu Rishi Chaddha), whose mundane life takes a magical and chaotic turn when an eccentric uncle, played with unpredictable flair by Piyush Mishra, introduces a mysterious book. From this book emerge two supernatural, childlike beings—Rahu (Varun Sharma) and Ketu (Pulkit Samrat)—whose innocent antics wreak havoc on the town, sparking rumours, superstition, and laughter.

The premise of Rahu Ketu is charming, rooted, and brimming with comic potential. The film thrives on situational humour rather than slapstick, relying on absurd scenarios, misunderstandings, and the interactions of its ensemble cast. Varun Sharma and Pulkit Samrat share undeniable chemistry, their timing and expressions forming the heart of the comedy. Their performances elevate the story and bring energy to nearly every scene, though both actors largely operate within familiar comedic zones.

Shalini Pandey as Meenu adds warmth and sincerity to the narrative, though her character arc feels underwritten, limiting her impact on the story. Piyush Mishra shines as the mysterious uncle, balancing humour and intrigue effortlessly, while Chunky Pandey’s Mordecai brings eccentricity and a quirky menace that keeps scenes unpredictable.

The supporting cast, including Amit Sial, Manu Rishi Chaddha, and Sumit Gulati, deliver steady performances that round out the film.

Director Vipul Vig, in his debut, shows promise by keeping the humour situational and the tone light-hearted. The scenic Himachal backdrop adds visual freshness, and the background score complements the comedy without overpowering it.

However, the film suffers from a stretched runtime and dialogues that occasionally fail to hit their punchlines, leaving some sequences feeling flat. A tighter edit and a sharper script could have turned these moments into memorable comedic set pieces.

Rahu Ketu is a watchable, light-hearted entertainer. It doesn’t fully realise its potential but offers enough charm, situational humour, and engaging performances to make it a decent, feel-good watch. Perfect for those looking for a relaxed, time-pass comedy, it delivers smiles without demanding too much investment from its audience.
