Marvel Studios has officially released a cryptic teaser for Wonder Man, a new MCU spin-off series set to premiere on Disney+ in January 2026. The series offers a unique meta take on superhero storytelling, centering around Simon Williams, a Hollywood actor and stuntman who gains superpowers and becomes the titular Wonder Man. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II stars as Simon Williams, delivering a layered performance that explores the world of acting intertwined with superhero life.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and Stella Meghie, and co-created by Cretton and Andrew Guest, Wonder Man blends the magic of Marvel’s cinematic universe with a behind-the-scenes look at Hollywood’s acting culture. The series also features Ben Kingsley reprising his fan-favorite role as Trevor Slattery, alongside Demetrius Grosse as Eric Williams (Simon’s brother aka Grim Reaper), Ed Harris as Simon’s agent Neal Saroyan, and others including Lauren Glazier and Byron Bowers.
The intriguing teaser plays on the theme of casting, humorously showing a director pitching a Wonder Man remake while a hopeful actor (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) looks on in astonishment. The show promises to mix humor, drama, and action, offering something fresh and self-aware within the MCU’s ever-expanding multiverse saga.
