Sreerupa Ghosh isn’t just a name in Indian music—she’s a living melody, nurtured from early childhood and woven with years of dedication, versatility, and soulful expression. Her musical story began at just one and a half years old, under the loving guidance of her mother. What started as a child’s playful humming evolved into a career marked by artistry, entrepreneurship, and relentless pursuit of excellence.

Growing up in Kolkata, Sreerupa’s talent shone brightly from a young age, as she amassed awards in school competitions and inter-school events. “Music has always been my first love,” she says, emphasizing that her singing goes beyond performance—it's a medium to connect, to emote, and to heal. Her classical training under Ustaad Sagiruddin Khan, along with her deep immersion in Rabindra Sangeet and Nazrul Geeti under Late Purabi Dutta and her mother, laid a profound foundation. Later, her voice was further refined in Mumbai under the tutelage of Guruji Late Satnarayan Mishra.

By age 14, Sreerupa was already working professionally, lending her voice to radio jingles and TV shows with a depth far beyond her years. Her debut Bengali album Bhalo Lage, released in 1996 by Asha Audio, marked her formal entry into the recording industry. However, it was the leap to Mumbai that defined the next chapter. There, she collaborated with music giants like T-Series, Tips, and Zee Music, becoming a familiar voice in remix albums, devotional music, and regional film tracks. “Mumbai was a turning point,” she reflects. “It tested me, but it also revealed my strength as an artist.”

Despite encountering setbacks—including a stalled Hindi album in 2005—Sreerupa’s spirit never wavered. Her resilience bore fruit as her music found new platforms. Tracks like Barse Rim Jhim Ghata and Satrangi Ye Mausam Hai are now streaming on Spotify, while her latest Hindi single Do Dilon Ke Chahake has struck an emotional chord with audiences. With lyrics by the late Shyam Anuragi and music by Rocket Mondal, the song showcases her ability to convey vulnerability and longing. “It’s not just a love song—it’s a memory, a feeling,” she shares.

Sreerupa’s talents extend far beyond the mic. As the founder of Vivacevoce Voce Voice Productions, she produces ad films, corporate content, and trains budding voice artists. Alongside her son, Koustuv Ghosh—a dynamic artist in his own right—she co-founded Building Frames Productions, diving into OTT music videos and digital storytelling. Her mission is truly global, with efforts to collect and share folk music from different cultures, building bridges through song. With her upcoming Bengali release Anonde Elo Ma Durga launching on August 22 across digital platforms, Sreerupa shows no signs of slowing down. “Music is a journey,” she says. “And I’ll keep walking, singing, and creating, as long as there’s a story to tell.”
