Music composer Daboo Malik launched his inspirational book Never Too Late at a bookstore in Mumbai, joined by his wife Jyoti, and sons Amaal Mallik and Armaan Malik. Surrounded by family and music, Daboo shared insights from his journey, laced with emotion, humor, and hope.
In one fun moment, the host asked who would play the Malik family if a film were ever made. Daboo, without missing a beat, replied, “Amaal will play the role of Daboo Malik while I will play the role of Sardar Malik. Armaan will play Armaan Malik (smiles). Music will be by Amaal Mallik. The only condition is that we get Mohit Suri to direct!”
Turns out, the idea isn't entirely fiction. “We actually came close to doing that,” Daboo shared. “We had a discussion with Mohit Suri, who wanted to make a family story. That’s probably the closest we ever got to turning our journey into a film.”
Reflecting on his book and life lessons, Daboo added, “Never lose hope, walk towards your dreams. You don’t know how far you are — maybe one shot away, or ten — but you will reach if you manifest it. I had one dream, that my sons would fulfill the dream of their grandfather, Shri Sardar Malik, and they have. With full support from my wife Jyoti — without her I wouldn’t even be wearing clothes today! She’s been my rock.”
Never Too Late is not just a title — it’s a testimony to Daboo Malik’s journey of legacy, resilience, and love. And if a biopic ever does happen, we already know who’s starring in it.
