Bollywood’s most iconic family is coming together for a cinematic celebration like no other. Netflix India has officially unveiled the release date for its upcoming documentary, Dining with the Kapoors — a heartfelt, nostalgic gathering that brings together multiple generations of the Kapoor clan. The special, premiering on November 21, marks 100 years of the legendary Raj Kapoor and nearly a century of the Kapoor family’s unparalleled contribution to Indian cinema.
The documentary will feature an intimate on-camera reunion with Randhir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Rima Jain, Ranbir Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, among others. Around one table — over laughter, food, and stories — the family revisits its legacy, swapping memories that span eras of Indian film history. It’s not just a documentary; it’s a cinematic dining table that celebrates kinship, creativity, and culture.
Tanya Bami, Series Head at Netflix India, described the project as both “momentous and heartwarming.” She shared, “With Dining with the Kapoors, we bring a story that is both momentous and heartwarming. As the Kapoor clan comes together to celebrate 100 years of their legendary patriarch, Raj Kapoor, the table overflows with food, laughter, and love. We’re honoured to take viewers on a culinary journey brimming with classic Kapoor wit and humour, legacy, and flavour.”
The documentary’s creator, Armaan Jain, called the project a deeply personal one. “Bringing the Kapoor khandan together around the table felt like unlocking generations of stories — the laughter, the chaos, the endless food, and of course, the banter that’s basically in our DNA,” he shared. “Dining with the Kapoors is my way of honouring Nanaji (Raj Kapoor) and celebrating the timeless bond that continues to hold us together.”
With a mix of nostalgia, humour, and familial warmth, Dining with the Kapoors promises to be a rare glimpse into Bollywood’s first family — not as stars, but as storytellers of their own legacy. For fans of Indian cinema, this November feast on Netflix will be one to savour.
