At the grand trailer launch of De De Pyaar De 2, producer Bhushan Kumar shared his excitement about bringing back the beloved franchise with a fresh, full-hearted sequel that blends humor, music, and relatable family dynamics. Known for backing some of Bollywood’s biggest entertainers under his banner T-Series, Bhushan Kumar emphasized that this isn't just another film — it's a rare mix of authentic storytelling and commercial appeal.
“The script is everything. This film is a proper family entertainer. We haven’t had a realistic, family-based comedy like this in a long time,” he said. “This is a true sequel not just a continuation using the franchise name. Like we did with Bhool Bhulaiyaa, we often use franchises to build new stories, but De De Pyaar De 2 is directly connected to the first film. It’s a continuation of that world and those characters. That’s why I believe it will attract a different audience altogether.”
Bhushan Kumar’s vision for De De Pyaar De 2 stands out in an era where sequels often feel like spiritual spin-offs rather than story continuations. By anchoring the sequel in the emotional and comedic threads of the original 2019 hit, the film remains grounded while introducing new conflicts and fresh faces.
The film follows Ashish Mehra (Ajay Devgn) as he deepens his relationship with Ayesha (Rakul Preet Singh) but this time, he faces resistance not from his own family, but hers. With R. Madhavan stepping in as Ayesha’s father and Meezaan Jafri bringing new energy to the ensemble, the stage is set for a hilarious yet emotional ride that reflects the awkward, often absurd, dynamics of Indian families navigating love across generations.
No T-Series production is complete without a blockbuster soundtrack, and De De Pyaar De 2 promises nothing less. “This is a full musical picture,” Bhushan Kumar revealed. “We’ve got all types of songs — there’s a party song, a romantic number, and a sad song as well. It’s a complete audio experience for every emotion the story goes through.”
Beyond story and songs, Bhushan Kumar is betting big on De De Pyaar De 2's theatrical reach. The film will be distributed on a wide scale, ensuring maximum visibility during its festive release window. “It will get good screens definitely more than 2000 screens,” he confirmed.
The film is releasing on 14th November, 2025.
