What happens when fear enters the very place we run to for safety? That’s the chilling, darkly comic premise of the upcoming film “Police Station Mein Bhoot”, a horror-comedy that marks the much-awaited reunion of Ram Gopal Varma and Manoj Bajpayee — 27 years after they made cinematic history with the cult gangster drama Satya.
But this time, it’s not the underworld they’re exploring. It’s the otherworld.
“Police Station Mein Bhoot” dives into a supernatural spiral where a haunted police station becomes the stage for fear, irony, and spine-tingling laughs. The film asks a terrifyingly clever question: “We run to the police station when we are scared — but where will the police run when they are?”
Joining Manoj Bajpayee, who plays a no-nonsense cop confronted with paranormal chaos, is Genelia D’Souza in a refreshing comeback role. Her portrayal is said to balance vulnerability with unexpected grit — a perfect foil to Manoj’s intensity.
Ram Gopal Varma, known for redefining the horror genre with films like Raat and Bhoot, shared his thoughts on the project: “Working with Manoj again after Satya is both nostalgic and thrilling. Fear becomes most frightening when it challenges the highest authority of safety, and a police station is the ultimate symbol of power. With Manoj’s intensity and Genelia’s vulnerability, this story will push boundaries of how we perceive horror in the guise of authority.”
The film has already wrapped its first shooting schedule, and insiders say the tone is a wild blend of psychological horror, satirical comedy, and old-school Varma tension — think The Conjuring meets Andaz Apna Apna… in uniform.
As audiences eagerly await more sneak peeks, one thing is clear: with RGV’s edgy direction, Manoj Bajpayee’s acting chops, and Genelia’s return, Police Station Mein Bhoot is poised to be one of the most offbeat and anticipated Indian films of 2026.
