Prime Video has dropped the trailer for Deep Cover, a high-energy action comedy from Amazon MGM Studios, slated to release on June 12, 2025. Directed by Tom Kingsley, the film stars Bryce Dallas Howard in a wildly unexpected role as an improv comedy teacher turned accidental infiltrator of London's criminal underworld. Blending sharp British humor with thrilling undercover antics, Deep Cover promises a wild ride packed with laughter, action, and a top-tier cast.
The film follows Kat (Bryce Dallas Howard), a struggling improv teacher who starts to believe she’s missed her shot at greatness. But everything changes when a jaded undercover cop (Sean Bean) ropes her into a dangerous scheme, offering her what she thinks is the "role of a lifetime." Instead of a part on stage, she’s tasked with infiltrating London's gangland by pretending to be a criminal. Desperate but intrigued, she recruits two of her quirky students, played by Orlando Bloom and Nick Mohammed, to join her in the absurdly high-stakes mission.
With a screenplay penned by Derek Connolly, Colin Trevorrow, Ben Ashenden, and Alexander Owen, Deep Cover pairs razor-sharp dialogue with chaotic comedic twists. The ensemble cast includes Paddy Considine, Sonoya Mizuno, Ian McShane, and the always watchable Sean Bean—whose tough cop performance adds a gritty anchor to the otherwise ludicrous premise.
From high-speed chases to painfully awkward improv scenes gone rogue, Deep Cover delivers a collision of worlds that makes for both explosive action and deadpan hilarity. With its unique concept and stellar cast, the film is shaping up to be a standout comedy of the summer.
Get ready for crime, chaos, and comedy when Deep Cover premieres on Prime Video on June 12, 2025.
