20th Century Studios has dropped the second and final trailer for Predator: Badlands, giving fans a deeper look into the franchise’s most ambitious and unexpected chapter yet. Directed by Dan Trachtenberg (Prey), the film takes the saga into bold new territory — quite literally — with a story set on a remote planet and featuring the most unlikely duo in Predator history.
In Badlands, Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi stars as a young Predator who has been exiled from his clan, deemed unworthy by his own kind. Isolated and desperate to prove himself, he crosses paths with Thia, a human survivor portrayed by Elle Fanning, in a world far from Earth. The two form a tenuous alliance, bound by survival and a shared desire to challenge the brutal order of things. Together, they venture through hostile terrain in search of the ultimate opponent — one that could either restore the Predator’s honor or destroy them both.
The final trailer leans heavily into the emotional and visual contrast of the story: tribal alien traditions collide with human vulnerability, all set against stunning landscapes and brutal action. Unlike previous Predator films that focused on humans as prey, Badlands flips the script, putting a younger, less experienced Predator at the center — a choice that adds depth to a franchise known more for carnage than character.
Dan Trachtenberg, who revitalized the series with 2022’s critically acclaimed Prey, co-wrote the screenplay with Patrick Aison. Their story honors the original characters created by Jim and John Thomas while steering the mythology into new, character-driven territory. From the looks of it, Badlands blends sci-fi survival, emotional stakes, and explosive action in equal measure.
Slated for release on November 7, 2025, Predator: Badlands could be the fresh reinvention fans have been waiting for — and a promising sign that there's still a lot of life left in the hunt.
