The much-anticipated Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Blind Babu has officially gone on floors, with shooting commencing under the direction of K Ravi Varma. Zee Studios, the film’s production and distribution company, made the announcement on Instagram with a series of pictures, where the director posed alongside Nawazuddin and veteran actor Pavan Malhotra, marking the auspicious start with a clapboard shot. Joining the cast will also be Zakir Hussain, promising a stellar ensemble that blends intensity with depth.
Zee Studios teased fans with a cryptic yet exciting caption while sharing the pictures: “Ab bomb phatega ya kuch aur? Get ready for the chaos that will trap you in edge-of-the-seat suspense, but with dark comic relief. The journey of BlindBabu begins now!” The message suggests that the film will tread the fine line between gritty thriller and dark comedy, keeping audiences hooked with unexpected twists and unpredictable chaos.
The collaboration between Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Pavan Malhotra brings double the excitement, given their reputation for breathing authenticity and intensity into each role. With Zakir Hussain also playing a vital character, the film seems all set to pack explosive performances that elevate its suspenseful narrative. Director K Ravi Varma’s vision hints at a thrilling ride wrapped in satire, promising both tension and laughter throughout.
Meanwhile, Nawazuddin is keeping his schedule packed with another big release on the horizon — Maddock Films’ Thama. Headlined by Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna, the film sees Nawazuddin in a menacing negative avatar as “Yakshasan – Andhere ka Badshah.” Recent character posters revealed his long-haired, devilish look that immediately caught attention across social media. Directed by Munjya filmmaker Aditya Sarpotdar and backed by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik, Thama is set for a Diwali 2025 release.
With Blind Babu now rolling and Thama lined up as a grand festive release, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is proving yet again why he is one of the most versatile actors in Indian cinema today. From exploring dark humor in his latest venture to embodying mythical menace in Thama, Siddiqui is pushing creative boundaries and promising audiences performances that will linger well beyond the final frame.
