The much-anticipated trailer of Do Deewane Sheher Mein has hit the internet, and the reaction is…underwhelming. While the film was expected to generate buzz around its lead pair, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Mrunal Thakur, it seems the audience has completely tuned out the central love story. Instead, social media is ablaze with chatter about an unlikely star—Donga Bhai from Lyari, the Dhurandhar figure who appears to have stolen every scene he’s in.

From the very first frame, it’s clear the trailer is struggling to sell its romance. The chemistry between Siddhant and Mrunal barely registers, and the story feels outdated and half-baked. Critics and fans alike are calling it a desperate attempt to capture attention, a film that reeks of forced emotions and fabricated drama. The fact that viewers are discussing a secondary character more than the leads is a harsh, unmissable verdict.

Donga Bhai, the trailer’s unintentional hero, has become a viral sensation. With a mere few appearances, the Dhurandhar character has overshadowed the entire narrative, leaving the audience laughing, intrigued, and curious—all at the expense of the film’s supposed protagonists. In an era where trailers are meant to hook audiences with star power and storytelling, this one has done the opposite: it highlights everything that doesn’t work while inadvertently making a side character the real draw.

From a production standpoint, the film carries heavyweight names: penned by Abhiruchi Chand, directed by Ravi Udyawar, and backed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali alongside Prerna Singh and others under Bhansali Productions and Zee Studios. Yet, the glossy backing and star-studded pedigree fail to mask the trailer’s glaring flaws. The love story, meant to be the soul of the film, feels like a dated experiment, struggling to justify its existence.

Do Deewane Sheher Mein is scheduled for a theatrical release on 20 February 2026, and the trailer has set the bar alarmingly low. Unless the film can turn its narrative around, Donga Bhai may remain the only memorable takeaway. In a cruel twist of irony, the marketing inadvertently signals that the film’s heartbeat belongs to a supporting character, not the lead pair. The stakes are high, and the clock is ticking for a movie that now has a mountain to climb to win its audience.
